Anca Moldoveanu works in the tradition of Pacific Northwest driftwood art, transforming weathered wood collected from beaches, rivers, and forests into sculptures, lamps, and functional art objects.

Rather than carving wood into predetermined shapes, driftwood artists begin with forms created by nature itself. Years of exposure to water, wind, and time shape each piece before it ever reaches the artist’s hands. The artist’s role is not to impose a design, but to discover and reveal the possibilities already present within the wood.

Anca is a member of the Northwest Driftwood Artists, a community of artists dedicated to preserving and advancing this distinctive regional art form. Their work emphasizes respect for the natural character of the wood, allowing grain, curves, textures, and imperfections to become part of the final artistic expression.

Working with reclaimed driftwood, Anca creates sculptural pieces, lighting fixtures, and decorative objects that balance craftsmanship with the organic forms found in nature. Her work highlights the unique patterns, movement, and history embedded within each piece of wood, making every creation one of a kind.
