Irina Georgescu

Irina Georgescu is a UK food writer and author from Romania, whose work draws on her Eastern European heritage. She writes with integrity and respesct towards this rich heritage, and constantly raises the profile of Romanian culinary identity, bringing forward traditions and realities little known outside of her country.
 
Her first book, ‘Carpathia, food from the heart of Romania’ was shortlisted by the UK Guild of Food Writers for the Best International Cookbook Award, while its German translation was awarded a Silver Feather by the German Culinary Academy. The book was also translated into Hungarian and Dutch. Her second book, 'Tava, Eastern European Baking and Desserts from Romania and Beyond' is a meticulously researched baking book celebrating centuries of diversity and overlapping cultures that form today’s cuisine in Romania. A German translation is due in February 2023.

Daisley Gordon

Daisley Gordon is “career changer” to culinary field. He immigrated to US with family from Jamaica in early 1970s. He has a degree Religion Studies and Speech Communications from Western Kentucky University. His unquenchable passion for culinary field lead to comprehensive culinary training, including:
  • Associate in Occupational Science degree from The Culinary Institute of America Hyde Park New York awarded 1994  
  • Internship with Dutch-born culinary mentor and Certified Master Chef Victor Giliesse at Actuelle, Dallas TX 1993  
  • Stages in kitchens and learning from seasoned FR restauranteurs in Paris  
  • Met and was inspired by Michelin starred chefs including (late) Joël Robouchon & Paul Bocuse as well as Guy Savoy  
  • Culinary research tours throughout US, the UK, France, Belgium & Italy. 
Daisley featured in national and local media for years.  You might recognize him from appearances in:   
  • 2008 Iron America Chef Competitor in a cooking challenge against Bobby Flay  
  • 2011 Judge of Top Chef Seattle   
  • High volume of Spring & Summer 2020 post-pandemic interviews w/ him or about his craft in Seattle Met Magazine, Forbes, Seattle Times, etc. 
 


 

Teodora Baba

Teodora Baba is the President and Founder of Teinnovadora, a woman-powered trading company that helps small businesses grow internationally. She focuses on the beverage and food industry. Her company is an importer and distributor of Romanian Wine in Washington State. In an industry dominated by Western European wines, Teodora wants to bring diversity, to give a voice to Eastern European wines and build a brand for Romanian wines in the U.S. Her next project is to export Washington State wines. She loves a great wine story, enjoys attending and supporting cultural events, and loves learning foreign languages.

A graduate of West University of Timișoara, Romania, with a degree in Finance and Insurance, Teodora has extensive experience in credit and international business, having worked in Romania, Belgium, and the U.S. She is a native of Romania, who lives in Washington State. She speaks Romanian, English, Spanish, and French.
